Dear colleagues,
On October 26–28, 2026, Moscow will host a key event for the professional community—the XVII Congress of Russian Surgeons, which will be held jointly with the XI Congress of Moscow Surgeons. This year, the Congress is united under a single concept: "Surgery—a space of limitless possibilities, supreme precision, advanced technologies, and the daily heroism of physicians."

The Congress will traditionally become not only a large-scale scientific and practical platform, but also the most significant event in the scientific life of the professional community. In 2026, the Congress will be of a reporting and re-election nature: the governing bodies of the Russian Society of Surgeons will present the results of their work over the past four years, and delegates from regional branches will participate in voting on key issues regarding the Society's development and the election of its leadership in accordance with the Society's Charter.

The scientific program of the Congress is being developed with the active participation of the country's leading professional associations, including:
  • Russian Society of Endoscopic Surgeons
  • Russian Association of Pediatric SurgeonsRussian Association of Pediatric Surgeons
  • Russian Endoscopic Society
  • Russian Association of Coloproctologists
  • Russian Association of Phlebologists
  • Russian Society of Angiologists and Vascular Surgeons
  • Russian Society of Gastrointestinal SurgeonsRussian Society of Gastrointestinal Surgeons
Such interdisciplinary collaboration allows for the creation of a truly "orbital" program—one that covers the entire spectrum of modern surgery: from fundamental research to high-tech applied solutions in practical surgery. The Congress will feature presentations from leading international experts from around the world, who will share their experience and present the results of the latest scientific research.

The Congress will focus on the most relevant areas:
  • polytrauma and trauma surgery
  • robot-assisted and minimally invasive surgery
  • military field surgery and emergency care
  • outpatient surgery
  • complications in oncological surgerycomplications in oncological surgery
  • digitalization and the implementation of artificial intelligence
Participants can look forward to scientific sessions, master classes, live surgery sessions, the exchange of unique clinical experience, and discussions of breakthrough technologies that are already shaping the medicine of tomorrow. Special attention at the Congress will be given to the Young Scientists Section, which serves as an important platform for the exchange of experience and discussion between young specialists and respected surgeons.

The XVII Congress of Russian Surgeons is more than just an event.
It is a gathering of the professional community, creating a platform, a launching pad for strategic decisions, and a space where new ideas are transformed into applied innovations that are shaping the present and future of Russian surgery.

Join us — and become part of this movement.
